CLASSES AND FOCUS
LEARN TO TAKE STELLAR FOOD- AND LIFESTYLE PHOTOS
During our five days together I will walk you through how to master the manual mode on your camera and teach you how to expertly dial in aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. I will teach you new ways to shoot evocative magazine-worthy photos, tell captivating food & travel stories, and develop new skills to grow as a photographer. High-quality food & lifestyle photography is tricky, and I have created this retreat to share all my very best tips and tricks with you on how to create stellar imagery, and load you with knowledge from the photographic industry.
Step up your styling
Throughout the workshop you will also learn the fundamentals of food styling, the principles of composition, how to use the right props to evoke the ambience you aim for, how to tell plated stories, create beautiful tablescapes, manipulate light, and make conscious decisions about what you put in the frame and what you leave out.
bonus class on how to make an e-book
The retreat also includes a bonus clas for the ones interested in learning how to create a beautiful e-book + how to tell a food- and travel story in pictures and text to sell to a magazine. The ones that are not interested in learning about this, are free to spoil themselves with a couple of hours on their own to read/go for a walk/take a nap or a swim/edit photos or photograph the breathtaking surroundings.
THE SECRETS OF THE AUTHENTIC TUSCAN CUISINE
During the retreat you'll also achieve culinary inspiration from local Tuscan producers, makers, foodies and home chefs. You'll be introduced to many local dishes and learn about the local edible treasures like wild herbs, truffles, chestnut flour, olive oil, grapes and figs.
Your home for four nights will be in one of two charming stone farmhouses drenched in history and set amongst olive groves and vineyards in the beautiful medieval village of Codiponte in a quiet and unspoiled part of Tuscany. The houses are located 5 minutes from each other, and are both characterized by peace and tranquility.
The farmhouse where most of our Tuscan meals will be served - La Concia, a 13th-century Tuscan monastery that has been beautifully renovated and converted into a B&B - belongs to our lovely host couple, Maartje & Davide, who live there with their daughter Béatrice. The house sits on a hill surrounded by olive groves, terraces with olive trees, lavender, wildflowers and fragrant herbs, and offers stunning views over the surrounding rolling hills, the majestic Apuan Alps and the historic village of Codiponte. Next to the farmhouse, there is a vegetable garden, that provides sun-ripened tomatoes and courgettes. There are plenty of shady places to retreat with a good book or to enjoy an afternoon nap. There are 3 single rooms and 2 double rooms in this farmhouse.
FARM HOUSE IN THE WOODS
From the courtyard, the other ancient farmhouse, that we are lucky to call our home for the five days, can be seen, nestled in the wooded hills. This farmhouse belongs to close friends of Maartje and Davide and have 2 wonderful single rooms and 1 double room. If you are an early bird or a nighl owl and would like to begin or end the day with a swim, this farmhouse offers a relaxing swimming pool area, where you can enjoy a dip before breakfast or bedtime and appreciate the view of the mountains.
“Ever thought about growing as a person creatively? And at the same time meeting people who will inspire you with their stories and creativity while gaining a fantastic mentor. I did – amazing and inspiring Sif Orellana made it happen and her retreats and workshop are truly a must."
Sif has a gift – she has a sense of uniting a group by creating an environment where everyone opens and shares thoughts and experiences with each other. Sif passes on her knowledge by telling the most wonderful stories, giving advice and also teaches hands-on, whether it is how to captivate beautiful images, new apps or creating a successful business. Most importantly Sif teaches you how to be true to yourself, embrace your dreams and live the creative life you always dreamt of. I am so happy I met Sif and all my new sisters. Thank you for making it happen – can’t wait to embark on new adventures with my extended creative family in the future.
JULIE POLAR, DENMARK
SIGNED UP FOR SIF'S WORKSHOP HOPING TO HONE MY VISUAL STORYTELLING TECHNIQUES...BUT I LEFT WITH SO MUCH MORE."
For me, the main benefits came when Sif shared the inside secrets of her incredible personal success story and from receiving invaluable individual feedback which she happily provided beyond workshop hours and even upon my return home! Importantly, she makes you feel comfortable instantly, no matter your photographic experience. Her down-to-earth approach helped participants to immediately gel well together which made the workshop fun.
Sif's style of communicating her visual storytelling knowledge is unique and made me feel truly connected and inspired. I returned home equipped with more tools and fully motivated to take action on my dreams.
I can’t speak highly enough of Sif's workshops.

“I'm speechless I'm so thankful… It was wonderful, eye-opening 3 days for me. You are such a colorful person and genuine to share your experiences and skill sets with us. I think that it's really good that I participated in this workshop to open up new paths and possibilities in this time of transition.
Your pieces of advice are precious to me and filled me with so much energy. I felt stuck when I came, but now I have found a light that gives me a sense of direction - thanks to your guidance. I know organizing workshops is a really hard thing, but you never looked tired and I respect you a lot. Again, thank you so much. I'm looking forward to our next gatherings.
